We hope you are well and are staying indoors and staying safe. We are especially thinking of and praying for those of you who have been impacted by the Coronavirus – whether you know someone who is ill, or if your work has been disrupted or, if, like the Batch of 2020, you find yourself in a very confusing place vis-a-vis the future. Please know that there are many of us you can reach out to (especially for our younger OLs) to brainstorm your futures and understand what plans you could actually make.
To allow us all to continue to engage, we would like to use the website as a platform for OLs to share stories and experiences around this lockdown. If you have been directly involved in fighting the Coronavirus as a medical professional or a supplier of essential services or just want to share your experience of the lockdown, please write in to us at [email protected] and we will share it with the larger community. You might also have memories of lockdowns and containment from when you were at Lovedale. These could be times when water ran out or food supplies did not come in or a time of war. How did you keep your spirit up? Did School support you in anyway? How did the community help you overcome that time of struggle?
We look forward to hear from you and to sharing your stories with our community. Please avoid opinions and criticisms of government policy, proposed solutions or medical advice as these will not be published.
Stay safe, stay home, stay healthy,
The OLA Executive Committee
